This six month program will start on February 6th and consists of two training phases.
Phase 1 - Base
The first three months will be pool training 3x per week, gradually increasing the distance per week to set you up with a great foundation on which to build into longer distance open water swims. This phase also includes strength and mobility training to help reduce injury risk. Everyone will complete this phase.
Phase 2 - Build, Race Specific
Here you will choose your pathway depending that event you are training for - either 6k, 12k or 18k. You might need to increase to swimming 4, 5 or even 6x per week, steadily building toward race distance and developing open water experience, finishing with a taper phase as we approach race day.
You should currently be able to swim 2000m with ease at roughly 2:00 per 100m pace to join this program.
Note: If we can secure pool space, additional in-person training may be available which would include video analysis. This would be an optional additional cost.
