Looking for a new challenge?
Interested to swim longer distances?
Have you ever considered taking on a marathon swim?
We have two programs to offer this season: Distance Swimming and Marathon Swimming.
Both programs run for 6-months throughout the summer, ending mid-August when most of the long distance swim events take place.
The first 3-months training will be done in the pool, gradually adding distance with a mix of technique, pacing, speed sets and a whole lot of easy swimming.
The second 3-months feature many more open water swim and the start of our epic day trips,
overnight swim camping and a 4-day training camp (location TBC).
How about swimming to your campsite?
Save The Dates
We have pencilled in the following dates for our group adventure swims. Swim start time is usually 8:00 am. Date and time subject to change based on tides, water temperature and weather forecast.
Summer swim camping adventures and the long distance open water swim camps will incur additional costs for transportation, food and accommodations. These trips are optional and at cost only. Guaranteed to be the best money you will spend this summer.
*Must be able to swim 6k comfortably to take part in these trips.
What's Included
Preparation
To get the most out of this program you should be able to swim 2000m with ease at roughly 2:00 per 100m pace. In the 8-weeks before this program begins you should be swimming 2-3 times per week doing 2000-3000m per swim. There is no need to be doing more than that right now.
Need a plan to follow to get ready? We've got that covered too.
Distance Swimming is our new option this year.
From 3k to 7k - you decide!
The further you go, the more adventure swims you can join:
Jug Island, Kits to Jericho, Twin Islands Swim Camping, Spanish Banks Shoreline Swim and our 4-day summer swim camp.
As well as the following open water swim events:
The Coho Swim 3k
Kits Challenge 3k
Canada Day Challenge 4k
IRONMAN 4k
Kalamalka Lake 4.5k
Kits Challenge 6k
Rattlesnake Island 7k
The baby brother to our Marathon Swimming group.
A half-marathon, if you like.
A marathon swim is 10km or longer and we are fortunate
to have several events to train for in BC right now.
Let us help you get ready for marathon events such as:
Around The Bay Challenge 10k
Skaha Lake Ultra 12k
Christina Lake 18k / 36k
This six month program consists of two training phases.
Phase one will be the same as the distance group.
Phase two we start building to your race specific distance.
You might need to increase to swimming 4, 5 or even 6x per week,
steadily increasing distance and developing open water experience,
finishing with a taper phase as we approach race day.
The gateway swim that will open your eyes to all the possibilities.
After a few big days, we enjoy a straightforward 5k around the lake.
Swim to an island campsite without leaving the city!

adventure swims with friends I realized just how much fun you can have doing cool trips while swimming and now I really enjoy helping others achieve their big goals.

Since then I accomplished many triathlons, running, and swim races including Ironman Canada, two ITU Long Distance triathlons. Recently I shifted my focus to long-distance swimming and have now finished the Skaha Lake 12k Ultra Swim three times and crossed Bosphorus Channel from Asia to Europe. More recently I have been helping with planning and guiding Swim Smart open water adventures.
